Some foundation training will be done in my barn. There is plenty of shade for you and your dog. It focuses on becoming a team with your dog. Class will cover, targeting, handling moves, flat work for agility, clicker training, rear end awareness and some basic obstacle introduction. Beginner Agility Dogs must have completed Foundation Agility and be at least 8 months old. This class will focus on introduction to all the agility obstacles weave poles after the dog is 1 year or older , as well as some simple sequencing and handling skills.

Intermediate Agility Dogs must have completed Beginner Agility. This class will focus on more advanced sequences and handling skills, as well as continuing to work on correct obstacle performance and gaining distance on the course. Advanced Agility Dogs must have completed Intermediate Agility. This class will focus on more advanced sequences and distance work. Your dog must be up to date on vaccinations. Training treats. You need plenty of treats for every class. Soft or semi-soft work best. Some good ones are Bil-Jac and Zukes. String cheese and hot dogs work well also. Portion sizes should be very small and kept in a zip lock bag. We recommend you do not feed your dog right before class so they are hungry for treats during training and feed lightly their meals on training day.

I also do some herding on the side with my dogs when time allows.

Everyone at the trial was encouraging and made my dog and I feel like we belonged. Before this trial I mainly did AKC which was very catty and stressful. Rocky Top Mountain K9 Agility was just the opposite making you feel like family. The rat barn has 2 rings and is very spacious. The agility ring is completely fenced in with thick soft grass to run on. The crating area has lots of room for crates and plenty of trailer parking. This facility is very roomy and pretty.

Rocky Top Mountain K9 Agility is the place to go. Colleen and her husband, Dick, are superior hosts and the facility is top notch! The agility ring and surface remain in great shape no matter what the weather. As an exhibitor who has an RV, I really appreciate being able to plug in. Sometimes the Flams even have a bonfire at the end of the day! I often compare the ring surface to what it must feel like to run on clouds.

Lunch has always been fantastic, and the ribbons and awards are lovely.
