Windows xp computer management access denied
Our application uses bunch of WMI calls. How to access WMI server under guest account? MSC but still I am getting access denied errors. Are you sure you want to give the guest account WMI remote access? I'm not sure the security implications of that It's been a long time for me on this one so I'm not sure this will solve everything, and I don't remember all the details so I'm leaning on this forum post.
Once again even if it works for you I'd look carefully at whether there are security issues with giving this kind of remote permission to the Guest account. But the interesting thing here is that managing some XP clients is ok. I am currently running Windows Update v4: 1 When I try to install downloaded updates from automatic update , it gives me an error. I am examined iuhist. I think I need to edit something in the group policy but not sure what is needed. Is the Remote Registry Service running? Have a look at any firewall that may be blocking MMC. Which means minimal Windows stuff which means before I came here nobody did anything more than the basics of creating users and joining computers to the domain. There are no group policies at all. I submit its possible that someone might have tinkered with the default policy which is what appears to be happening so I'll poke around.
Basically, ALL the computers are in their default containers. Thanks for the pointers.
