Thread starter boltrecords Start date Sep 14, I was having issues using both the audio interface and my axe fx ii as an aggregate with pro tools So decided to upgrade my interface so that i can run the axe fx spdif instead of using mono jacks. Im having a tough time getting this set up correctly and I'm not exactly sure of how it works.

I have the axe plugged to my new scarlett 6i6 via spdif Ins and Outs. I set the scarlett clock to internal. Does my guitar now plug to the input of the scarlett when recording guitars or still to the Axe FX? Do i have the axe fx set to analog input when recording my track and then switch to spdif when i want to reamp? When i set the axe to spdif, the screen says "no input clock" is this correct?

How is the dry signal being sent to the track now? How am i setting the inputs and outputs of the wet track, dry track and reamp track now? Sorry for all the questions but I've been working on this for the last few hours and am stuck. I new how to work everything with USB but spdif is new to me. Ive never used these jacks before for any device. What is your monitoring setup?

Are your speakers connected to the 6i6 or your computer? Thanks Fractalz. So close!!! Just can't get the clock to sync for some reason. You can't really get all of the inputs and use the interface to the computer at the same time. You can get all of the inputs if you don't use the interface, and just use the IO. At least, that is my experience. Steve Fogal. I'm not sure why you're going through all the trouble conversion just to get a reverb effect in that's analog to begin with. Which as said, it could be very well that you're routing things improperly within your selections somewhere on your interface, DAW etc.

It may work, but then I may not actually be in sync, especially if say, synchronizing computers together was my objective. The above is just sharing my own experience, don't know how much of it applies to your equipment Another one here wondering why you don't just go straight in to the interface's analogue ins?

You're converting anyway, I'm sure the Focusrite converters aren't going to lessen the integrity of the signal. But sounds like a matrix issue, I've got the 6i6 as above and it's not intuitive, but it is straightforward once you suss it. Tnx guys, I will try to check every step in the chain step for step.

And yes,m focusrite control is not intuitive at alllll! I kinda get how it works now, but it was a pain in the ass with some very frustrating feedbackloops to get my El Capistan delay to work. You need to create a path who cares what it's called and then click in the corresponding row where that path and SPDIF cross.

Should make sense All of your problems are answered by reading the manual You need to open the control panel for the Fast Track Ultra 8r. Then you will need to change your clock to "external". You'll need to make sure your T.

Should all run hunky dorey then. Therefore the two pieces of hardware will not be able to connect digitally. Can you connect them using the analogue connections? This is probably setup via you harddisk recording program. The M automatically returns to internal clock and analog operation but will continue to look for digital signal and the DIG IN LED on the front panel will keep blinking. Check cables and make sure that your Soundcard is set as Master. It's working! I've played with the buffer a bit but it's doesn't seem to be that.

What kind of cables are you using?
